Segments
The secret behind UOA Okoya’s timely delivery of complex projects lies within its technical department’s fully harmonised and coordinated approach to design, using BIM and other state-of-the-art applications.
The company has a one-stop shop philosophy that guides its provision of a holistic approach to engineering design. Its internal corporate business units have been strategically segmented along its lines of business to be able to harmoniously galvanise into action different aspects of design and engineering services from within and outside the company. This enables the timely delivery of vast and complex projects, putting UOA Okoya at the front of Nigeria’s construction industry value chain.
UOA Okoya’s in-house departments harmoniously working together to deliver top-notch services using BIM are:
Architecture
Department
UOA Okoya’s Architecture Department blends the experience of its well-established team members with the dynamic creativity of its fledgling architects, providing bespoke architecture design services with rigorous technical know-how.
The department currently has over 20 passionate architects and is set for expansion. It has a robust project, portfolio of commercial, institutional, industrial and residential building designs. In each one, it pays close attention to the client’s needs and specifications, effectively carrying them along throughout the design in order to guarantee their satisfaction, both with the result and the process.
Its architecture ensures the technical feasibility, integrity and safety of design solutions, aesthetics, as well as the functional performance of spaces, building elements and materials.
It achieves this by utilising the latest industry software for analysing, designing, detailing and visualizing designs. Design software used is capable of handling simple to complex structures and building simulations, such as FormIt and SketchUp.
UOA Okoya’s architects are proficient with Autodesk Revit Building Information Modelling (BIM) software, for effective collaboration with other departments within the organisation or outside of it; a collaboration that leads to coordinated designs, and ultimately results in increased efficiency, cost optimisation and effective planning for construction. The department aims to be a frontrunner in architecture service provision in the country.
Scope of Services
Structural Department
UOA Okoya’s structural engineers research, design and plan structural components and systems to achieve design goals. Structural designs ensure the technical viability, integrity and safety of design criteria, as well as the durable performance of bearing elements and materials. Special emphasis is placed on conformity with quality processes at all review stages.
The department’s balanced mix of seasoned and young engineers provides UOA Okoya’s clients with unique structural engineering designs and drawings.
The department achieves its set targets using the latest industry software for the design and detailing of structural elements. Designs are achieved using special finite element modelling software capable of analysing simple to complex structural systems.
It functions in harmony with the other departments using Autodesk Revit Building Information Modelling (BIM) software for effective collaboration. This collaboration leads to coordinated designs, which ultimately results in increased efficiency, cost optimisation and effective planning at construction.
